A lullaby is a cradle song, i.e., a soft and mellow tune sung to a child to lull them to sleep. Like Walkin', Lullaby uses three notes on the second string: E, F and G. Be mindful of the triple meter feel (strong-weak-weak). As you play the melody, alternate between the middle and index (m-i) fingers and keep a steady beat. If you prefer, you may use the thumb to pluck the strings instead of m-i.

Now practice the melody of Lullaby until smooth. Play along with the audio track or video to help shore up your rhythm.

Lullaby

Now that the melody of the Lullaby is under your fingers, it's time to work on playing the chords.

Because Lullaby is in triple meter, we will use Simple Strum 3/4: one thumb strum per measure on beat one: strum-2-3 | strum-2-3 | etc.

Once chord transitions are fluid, try three strums per measure: a heavier downbeat strum followed by two lighter strums. In other words, a strong-weak-weak triple meter pattern.
