Shalom Chaverim (שלום חברים) is a traditional Hebrew song arranged for guitar trio. It's spirited and fast paced and, although in the minor mode, is celebratory in mood and message.

Shalom Musings
The Hebrew word, Shalom (שָׁלוֹם), means hello, goodbye, and peace in popular use. It carries deeper meanings of harmony, completeness, prosperity, and tranquility. Chaverim (חברים) means friends. Thus, Shalom Chaverim proclaims "peace be with you my friends."
The lyrics for Shalom Chaverim are brief but repeat over and over:
Shalom my friends, shalom my friends
Till we meet again, till we meet again
Shalom, shalom
Study Tips
The guitar 1 part requires notes in the fifth position and beyond. If you're unfamiliar with the fifth position, review the New Notes section.
New Note
Shalom Chaverim requires use of a high D on the tenth fret of the first string:
High D | Located on the tenth fret of the first string
The D is the highest note of the melody, and best fingered with the 4th finger (pinkie) of the left hand. Shifting back and forth from first to the fifth position and higher is challenging, so plan on extra spot practice before rehearsals.
Vamp with Rests
Finally, the vamp (introduction) involves only the guitar 2 and guitar 3 parts. As indicated by the rest symbols, guitar 1 is silent during the vamp. Guitar 1 begins playing on the fourth beat of the fourth full measure.
