Yes, the Palace of Fine Arts is a tourist trap and, indeed, is beautiful both outside and inside the museum.

It was tricky to compose a decent shot due to all the unsightly chain link fences (to keep crazies out of the water?). Be careful in this area as it as a reputation for criminal activity.
