Club Hubba Hubba | Honolulu HI |
This gentleman's club was a popular destination for GIs from WWII to the Vietnam era, and died a slow death thereafter, closing in 1995. It was featured in the movie, "North Shore," and in the series Magnum PI. I visited Club Hubba Hubba during the 1980s and marveled at the massive hardwood bar, stripper stage and other vintage appointments. I felt like I stepped into 1942. The lone erotic dancer looked like she had been there since the "big" war. Soon the empty carcass of Hubba Hubba will be converted into a bar for "young urban professionals" or yet another art gallery. EOS 5DII and EF 70-200 4L IS USM |
The Club Hubba Hubba neon sign after restoration. Now the shell benealth awaits someone to step up and open an organic martini bar for trendy folk with tight clothing, weird shoes, super white teeth and bird nest beards! EOS 80D and EF-s 18-135 3.5-5.6 IS USM |
