Kinzie Battery Magazine Room | Port Townsend, Washington

The magazine room at Fort Worden was where projectiles for the big guns above were placed into a track driven auto-load device. The splashes of color are graffiti cover-ups— sort of unintended art—and make for a nice contrast to the drab interior. Kinzie battery would make a great military themed bed and breakfast. I can imagine a crack-of-dawn trumpet reveille to wake tourists, calisthenics topside and continental breakfast with k-rations. The resort fee would include assorted ditch digging, marching on Artillery Hill and a cold water swim in the Strait.
