For years I biked along this pier and took pictures. The guards no longer let me on the pier with a bicycle (not even walking the bike). They said they're protecting national security. But they let cars, trucks and drunks in—Hooters and several other bars were packed with screamming people watching football and drinking beer. The twisted logic is that motor vehicles are safer than bicycles because bicycle riders can hide dangerous shit in their pockets. Vehicles lack pockets... So I had to shoot from the sidewalk outside the pier. The light was fading fast as it was nearly a half hour after sunset. The mammatus clouds made the image.
