Seoraksan (설악산) River | Seoraksan, Korea

Early the next morning, before the fog had burnt off, we walked down to the Seoraksan (설악산) River, a five minute walk from our hotel. Massive mountains are hidden behind the shifting mists. Seoraksan (설악산) is a popular resort area near Naksansa (낙산사) and the North Korean border. While riding the bus to Seoraksan, soldiers boarded our vehicle and searched for North Korean spies. Luckily they didn't find any! Signs of the war that divided the Korean peninsula during the mid-20th century were still evident: barred wire on beaches, war memorials in parks and a visible military presence.
