Burano Canal | Venezia, Italia |
Burano is a small island in the lagoon just outside Venezia (Venice), a 30 minute boat ride from tourist central. It's a sleepy fishing village and poses a refreshing contrast to crowded and fast paced Venezia. At sunset the town square is filled with strolling old folks, teenagers and kids kicking soccer balls. |
The brightly colored boats and homes bathed in the setting sun was about as photogenic a scene as one could hope for. Traditional shuttered windows with flower pots are all the rage in Italy and Burano is no exception: |

I hung around for a few hours and ate dinner in a quaint sidewalk cafe. I can't say the food was good—was terrible—but the wine flowed freely and I left a happy albeit rather sedated man. Burano's main plaza at twlight. EOS 40D and EF-s 17-55 2.8 IS USM |
