The church (Chiesa degli Scalzi) stands proudly behind the taxi stand. This bombastic display of Baroque architectural design was worn and faded but still beautiful. The Chiesa degli Scalzi was one of the few churches that allowed photography but was busy with parishioners. So while I visited many beautiful churches in Venice, I have few interior pictures. While inside the Chiesa degli Scalzi, confessions were being taken and so many people were praying and stroking candles it was more crowded than the sidewalk. Indeed, it was nice to witness an active church.
