While a wee runt, I passed through Hamma Hamma en route to visit relatives on Hood Canal and remember this estuary as a shallow bay. Decades later, it's gradually turning into a meadow. Some of the older homes have the remnants of docks standing in the grass, hundreds of feet from the shore.
