Kinzie Battery Gate | Fort Worden, Washington

While a young boy, I pedaled my Sears 5-speed bicycle to Kinzie Bunker weekly, sometimes daily during summers. The destination was more about the challenge of biking over Morgan Hill and the subsequent blazing ride down Walnut to Point Wilson. I was sure Kinzie Gate was a local Stone Henge, with the power of the ancients rifling through and around it. Of course this energy was probably just the salt air and omnipresent winds off the Strait of Juan de Fuca.
