Fremont Street | Las Vegas, Nevada

The far western edge of Fremont Street in downtown Las Vegas during the "Summer of '69" celebration in 2009. I think those are fake hippies on stage and tangling in the air (EOS 5D and EF 24-105 4L IS USM).

Same old BS during winters but with seasonal adjustments for entertainment. The Golden Gate Casino (left) is the oldest hotel in Vegas, dating from 1906.

During summers Fremont Street is the coolest outdoor location in Vegas. The LED display canopy retains some AC pouring out of casinos while deflecting the blazing Nevada sun. On the Strip a typical summer day is 100-115 degrees F., so Fremont Street is a surprisingly cool experience if you like to casino hop.
