Naksansa (낙산사) Double Door | Gangwon Province, Korea

Peter Kun Frary | Photographer

This image is a detail from an exterior temple door at Naksansa (낙산사). I was not allowed to photograph inside the temple (someone yelled at me when I tried).

In Korea, photographers don't enjoy the same freedoms and rights as the West. Security guards threw me out of a computer expo at a Seoul university for simply carrying a camera. It was not a photogenic place and I had no intentions of even taking pictures! With all the "borrowing" Samsung has done with the iPhone and iPad they must be paranoid American spies would retaliate and steal Korean trade secrets.
