Naksansa (낙산사) Arrival | Gangwon Province, Korea

Peter Kun Frary | Photographer

We landed in Naksansa (낙산사)—the temple district—after a harrowing bus ride from Seoul along narrow and twisting mountain roads. We'll take the train next time! It was late, so we wandered around Naksansa for an hour, snapped a few pictures at the gate, and caught a bus to our hotel in nearby Seoraksan (설악산).

Seoraksan National Park is only a brief bus ride from Naksansa. Both locations are walking friendly and filled with attractive scenery. We shuttled back and forth between these two beautiful places multiple times during our stay.

The sign in front of the bell house below says "do not enter"!
