Cattle Egret | Honolulu HI

While eating lunch outside in downtown Honolulu, I noticed an egret in full breeding plumage in a bush and snapped a few frames before he fluttered off.

Cattle egret headshot. The state of Hawaii imported flocks of cattle egret in 1959 for insect control. Not much cattle here so they chase lawnmowers. Originally from Africa, these birds are spreading naturally in North and South America, having crossed over to Brazil during the early 20th century.
