I loved the openness of the Musée d'Orsay design and its unique and well presented collection. The building is a remodeled train terminal and one of the most elegant and accessible museums in Europe. Unlike the stuffy Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, photography was allowed (no flash). The French are smart and important paintings are under UV glass, bolted to the wall and under the eye of security.
The Bedroom, Vincent Van Gogh
And yes, somehow the French got one of Vincent Van Gogh's (1853-1890) most importnt paintings and it's tough titty for the green meanies and photography haters at the Van Gogh Museum. Ha, take that you Dutch infidels!
