Fort Street Mall Murals | Honolulu HI

Before the Great Plague of 2020, Fort Street Mall in downtown Honolulu was a hive of activity. Aloha shirt clad office workers and Hawaii Pacific University students lined the sidewalk cafes and eateries. Three or four languages filled the air at any given moment. This once mighty mall is now largely deserved save for homeless and security guards. I noticed one faint glimmer of hope: recently painted murals on ancient phone kiosks and schuttled businesses. The Father Damien and octopus murals are adjacent to the Cathedral of our Lady of Peace.
