Latourell Falls, like other falls in the gorge, hosts large patches of brilliant yellow lichen on surrounding rock walls.

Latourell Falls drops straight down from an overhanging basalt cliff 249 feet (76m) to arrive at this wee basin. And what a great show!

I recommend staying off the mud trails behind the falls. Besides the possibility of tumbling in the mud, keeping to the official walkways helps preserve the delicate flora surrounding the falls.
